Subhive Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 8, 2026

Subhive is a privacy-first subscription tracker for iOS and Android. It is operated by Better Life With Apps ("Subhive", "we", "us", or "our").

Contact: suhbive@gmail.com

This Privacy Policy explains what information Subhive handles, what stays on your device, what may leave your device, and how you can delete or export your data.

Short Version

Information You Add to Subhive

Subhive lets you manually add and manage subscriptions and trials. This may include subscription names, prices, currencies, billing cycles, billing dates, trial dates, renewal status, notes, categories, tags, optional payment method labels or card last four digits, Monthly Review decisions, notification preferences, display currency, language, theme, and app-lock settings.

This information is stored in Subhive's local SQLite database on your device. We do not upload this core subscription data to a Subhive server.

Imports, Screenshots, PDFs, CSVs, and OCR

Subhive may let you import subscription information from files, pasted text, PDFs, spreadsheets, or screenshots you choose.

Raw files, screenshots, and OCR text are processed on your device. Subhive does not upload those files or OCR text to our servers. After import, only the subscription entries you choose to save are stored in the local app database.

If you export data or use your operating system's share sheet, the destination you choose may receive the exported file. That sharing is controlled by you and by the destination app or service.

Information That May Leave Your Device

Most app data stays local, but the following limited information may be transmitted to service providers.

Purchases and Premium Status

Subhive uses Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat to process purchases, restore purchases, and check whether Premium is active.

These services may process purchase history, product identifiers, receipt or transaction data, entitlement status, currency, locale, and an anonymous app user identifier generated by the purchase SDK. Subhive does not receive your full credit card number or store payment credentials.

Crash Reporting

If crash reporting is enabled in the production build, Subhive uses Sentry to help diagnose app crashes and serious errors.

Crash reports may include technical diagnostics such as app version, device model, operating system version, stack traces, and error context. Subhive is configured to avoid sending subscription names, prices, imported file contents, raw OCR text, route parameters, screenshots, view hierarchy, or other intentionally user-entered subscription data.

Service Logos

If a Brandfetch client ID is configured, Subhive may request service logos from Brandfetch's CDN for services shown in the app. A logo request can include the service domain, such as spotify.com, and the request may reveal your IP address to Brandfetch or its infrastructure provider.

Exchange Rates

Subhive may fetch public exchange rates from Frankfurter so it can estimate subscription totals in your display currency. These requests include a currency code such as USD, not your subscription list.

Services Catalog

Subhive may fetch a public services catalog to update known subscription services, default prices, logos, and categories. This request does not include your subscription list.

Support Messages

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, message contents, attachments, and any information you choose to include. Please do not send bank statements, screenshots, receipts, or sensitive financial information unless we specifically ask for it for support and you are comfortable sharing it.

Permissions

Notifications

Subhive schedules trial, billing, and review reminders locally on your device. The current app does not require a Subhive account or a Subhive push-notification server for these reminders.

Your operating system may process notification permission status, notification delivery, badges, and notification interaction data as part of iOS or Android.

What We Do Not Do

How We Use Information

We use information handled by Subhive to show and manage subscriptions and trials, calculate costs, schedule reminders, run Monthly Review and Trial Sniper features, import subscription candidates, verify purchases, restore Premium access, diagnose crashes, improve reliability, respond to support requests, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and app-store obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the app, such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Sentry, Brandfetch, and exchange-rate or catalog providers, as described above. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or abuse.

Storage, Retention, Export, and Deletion

Your core Subhive data is stored locally on your device until you delete it.

You can delete local app data in Subhive's settings using Delete All Data, or by uninstalling the app. Delete All Data cancels scheduled Subhive notifications and deletes user-generated app rows from the local database.

You can export your data from Subhive's settings as JSON or CSV. Exported files are created locally and shared only through the destination you choose.

Data handled by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Sentry, Brandfetch, Frankfurter, email providers, or other service providers is retained according to their own policies and legal obligations. If you contact us at suhbive@gmail.com, we will help with deletion requests for provider-side data that we can reasonably control, such as RevenueCat customer records or support correspondence.

Because Subhive does not require an account in the current app, we may not be able to identify or access data that exists only on your device.

Security

Subhive is designed to minimize server-side data. Local app data is protected by the security of your device, operating system sandboxing, and your device passcode or biometric settings. Optional app lock adds an additional in-app gate, but it does not replace your device passcode.

Network requests to service providers use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we try to keep the amount of transmitted data as small as practical.

International Transfers

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those countries may have data protection laws different from the laws where you live.

Children

Subhive is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal information we control.

To make a request, contact suhbive@gmail.com. If your request concerns data stored only on your device, the fastest path is to use the in-app export or deletion controls.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Subhive changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, when appropriate, notify users in the app or through the app-store listing.
